Notably Maharashtra’s oldest and largest National Park, the “Tadoba National Park”, also known as the “Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve” is one of India’s 47 project tiger reserves existing in India. It lies in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state and is approximately 150 km from Nagpur city. The total area of the tiger reserve is 1,727 Sq.km, which includes the Tadoba National Park, created in the year 1955. The word ‘Tadoba’ is derived from the name of God “Tadoba” or “Taru,” which is praised by local tribal people of this region and “Andhari” is derived from the name of Andhari river that flows in this area.

The Tadoba Tiger Reserve is rich in flora and fauna. Some of the famous and wildly seen flora of this park include, Teak, Ain, Bija, Dhauda, Hald, Salai, Semal, Tendu, Beheda, Hirda, Karaya gum, Mahua Madhuca, Arjun, Bamboo, Bheria, Black Plum, and many others. Apart from this the list of animals noted in this part include, Tigers, Indian leopards, Sloth bears, Gaur, Nilgai, Dhole, Striped Hyena, Small Indian Civet, Jungle Cats, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Chital, Marsh Crocodile, Indian Python, Indian Cobra, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, Peacock, Jewel Beetles, Wolf Spiders, etc.

Pench National park, nestling in the lower southern reaches of the satpuda hills is named after Pench river, meandering through the park from north to south. It is located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra, in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara.Pench National Park, comprising of 758 SQ Kms, out of which a core area of 299 sq km is the national park and and remaining 464 sq km is the buffer area. The area of the present tiger reserve has a glorious history. A description of its natural wealth and richness occurs in Ain-i-Akbari. Pench Tiger Reserve and its neighbourhood is the original setting of Rudyard Kipling’s most famous work, The Jungle Book.

This teak forest is a different and a pleasant surprise to the normal and scenic parks of Kanha and Bandhavgarh. The tracks are smoother, the trees are thicker with dense undergrowth, perhaps one reason why the herbivore population here is more larger in size compared to Kanha and Bandhavgarh. There is a distinct silence here. You feel you are the King, when suddenly your driver halts seeing the Pugmarks of the actual King of the area. A Tiger has just crossed, he shows them to you, and suddenly an alarm call from one of the denizens of the forest.

Kanha National Park is one of India’s largest parks, covering almost 2000 kilometers of pristine Indian wilderness. Situated in the Maikal Hills of the Satpura range, Kanha boasts a spectacular landscape of vast sal tree forests, interspersed with flourishing green meadows and beautiful stretches of lush bamboo growth. This national park is one of the first nine tiger reserves established with the initial launch of Project Tiger in 1973, aimed at protecting tigers and their ecosystems. Kanha is prime tiger wilderness, and it remains Project Tiger’s greatest success story.

There are numerous Tiger reserves in India, that are preserving the Tiger but nowhere can you see them as often, and as regularly as in Kanha National Park.

The terrain inside the park is varied, nonetheless enjoyable. Bamboo forests flow into Sal forests and meadows. There are herds of spotted deer to be seen with smaller herds of beautiful Antelope, the Black Buck. With a little luck, you could also spot the timorous Barking Deer. It’s snapping warns other denizens of the forest that a predator is around. There is also a very strong possibility that you will see the Rare Barasingha, the Swamp Deer. Once there were only 66 of these in Kanha, but careful conservation and management raised their population to over 400.

Spotting wild animals is always a matter of luck but Kanha is so rich in wildlife that the odds are tilted in your favor. There are 175 varieties of birds in Kanha. One can easily catch glimpses of all the grazers, a Porcupine, many Gray Langurs, Mongoose, Hyena, Jungle Cat, even a Leopard. Other wild attractions in this Tiger country include varieties of Deer – the Barasingha, Chital or Spotted Deer, Chousingha, Nilgai, as well as the majestic Gaur or Indian Bison and wild Pig.

After breakfast drive to Bandhavgarh national park, Check in to resort later afternoon Jungle Safari.

Bandhavgarh was an ancient stronghold of many kings, a land with history dating back to roughly 4000 years ago. This area had many dynasties ruling over it and finds mention in the Ramayan. The park is dotted with many caves with ancient rock paintings and carvings. The majestic Bandhavgarh Fort dominates center of the park with its own history dating back thousands of years. Various temples with statues depicting incarnations of Lord Vishnu dot the fort.

The chances of seeing a Tiger in Bandhavgarh is greater than in any of India’s other forests. In summer months Tiger can quite often be seen at couple of major waterholes in the park like Chakradhara, Gopalpur, Jurmani and Barwanala. Other important cats in Bandhavgarh are Leopard and the jungle cat. As many as 37 species have been listed for this park including 3 types of antelopes – Blue Bull, Chinkara and the Chausingha. Deer species like Chital, Sambar, Barking Deer, 4 species of bats, 2 types of squirrels, Indian Pangolin, Indian Porcupine, Palm Civet , Rare Indian Wolf, Indian Wild Dog, Ruddy and Common Mongoose, Honey Badger, Jackal, Wild Boar, Indian Hare, Common Langur and Rhesus Macaque.

Morning jungle safari. After breakfast drive to Jabalpur, upon arrival check into hotel, some rest.

This evening, attend arti at Narmada Ghat (Gwari Ghat).

After breakfast drive to Satpura, enroute sightseeing of Marble Rock, boat ride, cable car drive and visit to the Tantrik temple.  The Marble Rocks are a gorge on the Narmada River in central India where the river narrows to a width of 10 meters and carves through a large area of white marble, creating a beautiful gorge of about 3 km in length. The Marble Rocks are located near Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh state. The local marble is mined and carved into various figures and transported all over India.

Just 21 km west of Jabalpur, is a small village called Bhedaghat, known for splendid Marble Rocks on the banks of Narmada River. Covered with dark volcanic seams of green and black, they tower to almost 100 ft above the soft flowing Narmada River on either side. They are fabulous to look at during the daytime when sun sparkles on the pure white surfaces of these rocks. During the night as well, they give you a mesmerizing view under the moonlit skies. The Marble Rocks have been considered as one of the thousand places that you should see before you die. The best way to enjoy the sheer delight of these rocks is by taking a boat ride in Narmada River.

After early lunch in Bhedaghat continue drive to Satpura, check into resort.

Satpura National Park is located in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh in Central India. It is spread over Satpura Hills on highlands of Central India. Its name Satpura is a sanskrit word, which simply means Seven-hills. It is part of Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve and covers an area of 524 sq.kms. If you are fed-up of struggle for entrance tickets, pool of gypsy at entrance gate, every now & then finding safari vehicles moving inside jungle then Satpura National Park is the right solution for nature & wildlife lovers. It is the place where every true wildlife lovers should must visit to appreciate the peaceful jungle, away from hustle & bustle of safari jeeps, beautiful hilly terrains, deep gorges, rivulets, virgin forest locations etc. of Satpura National Park is nurtured in the Satpura Ranges of Hoshangabad district in center Madhya Pradesh. After breakfast drive to Bhopal, enroute visit Bhimbetka & Bhojpur temple.
Bhimbetka is a World Heritage Site and is situated south of Bhopal. This is the site of the second oldest cave paintings in the World. The location is beautiful, along the Satpura range of mountains. The area around the caves is forested, which adds to the natural beauty. The Bhimbetka rock shelters exhibit the earliest traces of human life in India; its Stone Age rock paintings are approximately 9,000 years old, making them among the worlds oldest.

On the way, we will stop over to see Bhojpur temple.. if interested. The tiny village of Bhojpur is situated on the bank of river Betwa. Bhojpur is famous for remains of magnificent Shiva Temple and Cyclopean dam dated 1010-53 A.D.

Upon arrival transfer to hotel, the remainder of the day is free for independent activities.

Morning after breakfast excursion to Sanchi.

Sanchi is famous for its Stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars standing tall from the 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D. The Sanchi Stupa is one of the most famous of these monuments and was originally built by the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. He was then the governor of Ujjayini, whose wife Devi was the daughter of a merchant from a nearby place called Vidisha. Their son Mahindra and daughter Sanghamitra were born in Ujjayini and sent to Sri Lanka, where they converted the King, the Queen and their people to Buddhism.

Next visit to Udaigiri (13 km from Sanchi), there are the Hindu and the Jain caves that run in succession. These rock cut cave sanctuaries of Udaigiri are world famous. Both the places are of much historical significances. The Buddhist monks inhabited these caves cut into the sand stone hills in 2 B.C. The caves contain carvings of Lord Vishnu. One can visit the remains of the 6th century Gupta temple on the top of the hill. The Gupta temple is amongst the pioneer temples that followed the temple architecture in India.

Late afternoon return to Bhopal airport for flight 9W 2640 depart 2040 / arrive 2210 to Delhi. On arrival transfer hotel near airport.
